Bridges can restore missing teeth without having to resort to a removable plastic denture. They are particularly suited to small one or two tooth gaps. The false tooth is retained by one or both of the teeth on either side of the gap. It is permanently fixed in place and there is no palate. It feels just as though you had your own tooth back again. Sometimes the teeth either side of the space will require crowning to retain the false tooth. However in recent years the advent of new adhesives have allowed us to often simply “glue” the false tooth to the back of the existing teeth. An example of a bridge case treated at our practice is illustrated below.
